As part of South Kent College, Ashford School of Art and Design is pleased to offer Performing Arts courses equivalent to GCSE and A-Levels at the highly professional and state-of-the-art FTD Dance Centre.
Enrol on one of our courses and gain the skills required to work towards a career as an actor, director, stage manager, theatre designer/technician, teacher or gain work in community arts industries.

Courses starting in September 2009
Introductory Diploma in Performing Arts (BTEC)
Full-time 1 year Code: 2251 Level 1
First Diploma in Performing Arts (BTEC)
Full-time 1 year Code: 1605 Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE level)
National Diploma in Performing Arts (BTEC)
Full-time 2 years Code: 1604 Level 3 (equivalent to A-Level)
Carry out practical projects based around units such as: Acting; devising; jazz dance and performing arts business.
Assessment is by coursework and performance projects.
After the First Diploma (BTEC) many students go on to study the National Diploma (BTEC) before studying a Degree or HND course in performing arts-related areas or enrolling on courses at RADA, LAMDA and the Central School of Speech and Drama.
